The Breathing Skins Showroom is the first walk-in prototype covered with a Breathing Skin

Minimal air pressure changes inside the glazed sandwich panels cause the deformation of 2800 artificial pores and pigments

Advanced multilayer prototypes show how facades can simultaneously perform multiple adaptive functions

This way, users can precisely set the level of ventilation, airflow and privacy

Basics Prototypes highlighted the different applications of, elastic or plastic deforming materials. Elastic materials, as in this example, change their shape in a very predictable way, similar to folding structures

Ultra-thin films, on the other hand, can deform under enormously low air pressure and thus with minimal energy input. These were therefore used in the Breathing Skins showroom.
